QUILT SHOW IN HILLSBORO, OR

Recently I went to a quilt show in Hillsboro, OR, which is about a one hour drive from my house.  This is my second quilt show since COVID.  Things are gradually getting back to normal!  Here are the pictures that I took.

This one is really cute!

Wow!  Lots of work here!

My Favorite!

I really thought the description would have been about seeing sea turtles while  on a trip to Hawaii, or something like that.  But I'm sure it makes a super nice cover.

I'm proud of myself for adding another post so soon!  I plan to add another one in a few days! It's always fun to go to quilt shows and see what other quilters are making.

Thanks for visiting!!

WILLAMETTE VALLEY QUILT FESTIVAL, ALBANY, OREGON

Last week I went to Albany (about 40-50 miles south) Oregon to this quilt show.  It is the 2nd annual show that they have put on and it was very impressive!

Here are the best pictures that I took of the quilts that I liked the most.  I won't say much as there are quite a few of them.  Enjoy!

The next one received a blue ribbon and was made by Lynette Horn, a friend from my quilt guild.

This was my favorite quilt!

It was a wonderful show with lots of great vendors as well!

Well, my sewing machine is fixed, but I don't have anything to show you because we took a short trip down to Medford OR to see where our DS#1 flies to every day,  On the way we stopped at the historic Wolf Creek Lodge, in Wolf Creek, OR, which was built in 1883.

Over the years many famous people have stayed at the inn, with Clark Gable, his wife, and Jack London topping the list.
Room that Clark Gable stayed in

The state park ranger told us about a ghost town, named Golden, nearby, so we also went there.  I assume the reason it has the name Golden is because of all the gold that was mined there out of the creek.

Church built in 1852.

My son flies freight from Portland, OR to Medford, OR daily in this ATR aircraft, which can carry up to 10,000 pounds of freight.  Below is his picture on the left and his co-pilot on the right.

It was fun being able to see where he goes and get to see the airplane up close as well.

I was able to visit a couple quilt shops accidentally on purpose.  One was Top Stitch, in Medford, which is a Bernina shop, but has a lot of fabric.  The second one was Country Lady Quilt Shop in Roseburg, OR.   Country Lady had a lot of women in there sewing and having way too much fun.   I forced myself to buy some fabric in each shop, but some was for a friend, so I wasn't real bad.  The scenic drive down I-5 is just amazing!

Now I'm trying to catch up and get things back to normal.

TRIP TO COAST CONTINUED

This is a better picture of my yo yos and fabrics that I am using to make a valance for my sewing room window.  When we weren't walking around Seaside, OR, shopping, eating or going to restaurants, I was in the motel making more of these.

I also did a little knitting on dish cloths.  I am trying out some new cotton from Knit Picks and thought brown would be good.

Seaside, OR was at the end of the Lewis and Clark trail where they went to get salt to preserve food for their trip back east.

On the way home, we stopped along the coastline and I took this picture of the Pacific Ocean and the sea gull.  He flew to a farther post whenever I got too close.  I am in awe of God's creation!

We also stopped at Munson Falls which is just south of Tillamook, OR.

Trail into the falls.

Lots of mossy trees.

I love this mossy boulder in the creek.

Another mossy boulder farther up,
Munson Falls is the highest waterfall in the Coastal Range of Oregon at 319 feet high.  With the almost constant rain they've been having, there is a lot of water flowing over it.

A good time was had by all, but we are glad to be home again!

NEWPORT QUILT SHOW II AND ADVENTURES GOING HOME

More pictures from the quilt show.  This one was my favorite!  So scrappy and a great variety of fabrics!

New York Beauty

After the show, we stopped along the road to take a picture of the ocean - so beautiful!

Somehow, on the way home, I missed a turn and we were talking a lot, so maybe that distracted me.  All of a sudden we were entering a small town and I didn't remember ever seeing this town on the way from Lincoln City to McMinnville.  Luckily, there was a quilt shop there, so we stopped to find out where we were!  We had kept going North and ended up in Cloverdale, OR at BJ's Quilt Shop.  The clerk explained how to get back on track, but we had to do a little shopping!

It turns out that I had been to this shop a few years ago when it was located in a house.  They just moved to this shop recently.  Was that serendipity? or what?

Next door to the quilt shop is one of the best antique shops I have ever been in!  So, if you ever make its to Cloverdale, OR, be sure to stop in both of these stores.

Our day ended up being a lot longer than it should have been, but we all enjoyed it nonetheless.
