I MIGHT LIKE APPLIQUE AFTER ALL!
Here is the latest BOM from Gail Pan designs. I think I'm current on this one, except I haven't been putting the borders on yet.
And here's the latest "A Tisket A Tasket" applique BOM. When I started these, I didn't know how I would do them, because I usually don't do applique. The first month, I tried needle turn applique and while I got it done, I wasn't real happy with it. The second one I tried the kind where you iron freezer paper on, turn the edges under and applique like needle turn. Then you cut out the back and peel off the paper. I really didn't like this method and decided I would not do it again. The last two I used Wonder Under and machine applique and I like this method the best. I know it doesn't look as good as "good" needle turn applique, but I think it looks better than MY needle turn, so I decided to do all of them this way.
I can't believe I am up to date on these! (I'll post the 4th one soon - I need to take a picture of it). I gives me a little hope and even desire to do some more applique. It would probably be better if I would do some "country" or "primitive" type applique with large pieces. Tee Hee Hee!!!

SOME PROJECT COMPLETIONS AND GIFTS RECEIVED
I received a painting from one of our Spanish interpreters for the court where I work. Mike carries a pad of paper with him so he can draw if he has to wait a while. I asked him for a picture, but I told him I didn't want any weird picture. You will know what I mean if you check out his site on artbreak . He and his wife go to Spain every year and this is a picture of some scenery over there. I love it!
Below is a gift from my #1DIL's father - a nice box of tea bags. After we use up the tea, the box will come in handy! I made some tea this morning in my new mug with a quilting picture on it (from my sister). Another gift (1000 piece puzzle) is in the background.
May Britt in Norway has this free pattern on her blog. I loved it and decided to make 6 of them for Christmas of 2009. They are finished! This will be my first finish for 2009. See the "One Project a Month Challenge" picture on the right side of my blog. I don't think that will be too hard to do. I guess it depends on how big the project is.
Here's a closer up picture. BTW, I have NOT taken my Christmas decorations down yet! No offense, but I don't understand people who take their's down the day after Christmas. I will probably get around to it next weekend. Tee Hee Hee!
These pennie pockets are my second finish for the month. I know they are both small things, but a finish is a finish! This pattern is available at thehappyzombie.com . I've made 12 of these and will use them next Christmas also!
Good luck on your projects for 2009!

Why are weekends so short?
I can't believe it's Sunday night already! This weekend just flew by, but I want to show you what I have started. This is my first stitchery from the Polka Dot Girls quilt. It is really fun to work on!

Tomorrow I will take DH to the airport so he can go to help DS#3 move. On Friday, DS, DIL & new baby will come here on their way to their new home, so I will get to see Jonah again. I can't believe he's a month old already. I can't wait to see him again!
My other GS wants me to make him a new quilt, so I will need to get fabric for that. Have a great week!

Another Squirrel Story
Before I go into the squirrel saga, here is my latest stitchery from Capricorn Quilts. I did the first 4 in blue and decided to do the next 4 in red. I have the next one ready to start stitching on after I finish the little kangaroo stitchery for the Noah's Ark wall hanging. That is almost finished (I worked on it while watching Miss Potter last night).

A couple projects
Last weekend I finished up this small quilt and Monday I took it to my quilt guild meeting where I turned it in for donation to the Children's Medical Center. These blocks were made by various members of my guild and I won them in the drawing for that particular month. I got enough to make a quilt. I hope it gives comfort to someone.
Go to her web site to sign up for a new free pattern drawing. Or you can download her Noah's Ark patterns. This one is the third and she added the kangaroo stitchery recently.

There is another drawing at Canton Village Quilt Works. This one is a really special prize - she will quilt for FREE a quilt up to twin size!
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

Two BOMs
I finished a few BOMs. This first one is from Lynette Anderson , a designer in Australia. This is the second month - there will be 12 and it will be a completed Noah's Ark wall hanging at the end. They are available for downloading from her blog. I think this is going to be darling!
This is the first one that I did of another BOM, from Bea in Germany at Capricorn Quilts.
I have finished 2 of these and will post the second one next blog. The picture didn't turn out, so I need to re-take it and the camera's batteries were getting charged up. This is actually the second BOM from Capricorn and the patterns are only up for one month each. There is a new one posted now, which is actually the 4th one. I have two done and two more to do. I plan to get them finished in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you are doing these also.
