Thanks so much for everyone who entered my giveaway and for your sweet comments!  I had a couple requests for the thread catcher pattern, so I am including the link to the pattern here.  The only change I made was to make the pincushion a little larger (I don't remember the exact measurement I made it, but I think enlarged it maybe about an inch).  I also filled the pincushion with ground up walnut shells, which are available at a pet supply store.  One bag of the ground up shells will last a long time unless you share it with someone.

A WIN AND A WELL TRAVELED BOX

In December I won a giveaway from Frederique in France!  It was a gift certificate to an online quilting store.  I was so excited and went to the site and ordered fabric.  Naturally, I spent a little more than the gift certificate, so I paid for the rest via Paypal.

Unfortunately, when we moved, Paypal decided it liked our old address in Texas better than our new one, even though DH changed our home address to OR.  When I paid the small amount to get my prize, I failed to notice that Paypal used our old Texas address.  After a couple weeks, I decided to check up on my order and I got the tracking number.  That's when I figured out that it was probably sent to Texas.  When I checked the location of my purchase, it was in Raleigh, NC!  What?!?  The tracking log showed that it had left Alabama 12/18/2014 and was sent to Texas.  From there it was forwarded to Oregon and then it was sent to Raleigh, NC.  My suspicion was that the yellow forwarding sticker came off, but I have no idea why it went to NC.  I even went to my local Post office and the picture of the box that they were able to pull up didn't show a forwarding label.  They said that there was nothing they could do.  

So I just waited.  Well, yesterday the package arrived.  It had a yellow forwarding label on it, but that label was just hanging on by a thread, so it is amazing that it made it here.  The box literally traveled from coast to coast and took exactly one month to get here.  

Box was pretty beat up.

The items inside the box were in perfect condition!

Thanks, Frederique!  (BTW, she is having another giveaway, so you have until Feb. 8 to enter)!  I love the fabric and charm pack that I got!  And I thank the U.S. Postal Service for getting my package here even though it was sent to the wrong address!

ABUNDANCE AND A GIVEAWAY

Lori at HumbleQuilts had another quilt along, this time for a replica of an small antique doll quilt.  I figured I could squeeze it in between my other priorities, so here it is.  I tried to use similar fabrics that were in the original quilt - at least color wise, but of course, mine aren't faded by age.  There are four different pinks and four different blues.  Lori has made so many gorgeous quilts, so if you haven't checked out her blog, you need to do it now!  Especially since she had a show at a quilt shop and displayed a lot of her quilts in her last post.

Here are my basket blocks for January - which I appliqued using a few different prep methods.  I'm afraid I might have to go with the spray starch method as it is the easiest to applique down.  When I get the February BOM in the mail, I think I'll prep all of them that way and see.

And now, dear friends, I am having a giveaway to celebrate my fourth year of blogging as well as passing 400 posts!  Blogging has been such a wonderful experience for me and I can't believe how many friends I have made and how much I have learned from them.  My giveaway consists of a pin cushion that I made ( pattern is in the Winter 2011 Primitive Quilts Magazine) and a small bundle of fat quarters (and no, they aren't reproductions).  I will also add a few other little goodies.

RAFFLE QUILT, SOME PROJECTS AND A WIN

I'm supposed to be selling tickets for the raffle quilt for the Cedar Hill Quilters Guild, so I decided to post it on my blog.  The drawing will be November 12, 2012 for this original quilt designed and made by members of my guild.  (I didn't make any blocks).  The large center block is painted on fabric.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  If anyone is interested, please email me - no pressure at all.   Just if you are interested.

I love the charm pack fabrics, so...

I decided to sew them together right away.  I have made this block before, sometime last year.  It's called the 10 minute block (you can google 10 minute block to see how to do it).  I didn't even have to cut any fabric and I had enough for 8 blocks!  The top is done - I don't know when I'll get it quilted.  The sides of the squares in the middle of each block will be turned in like the cathedral window quilt.  This will be a lovely new Christmas table runner for my table.  The table runner I have been using is quite old, so I think it's time for a new one.

I made a flag placemat for a friends birthday.

These are some cross stitch projects I just finished.  This one will be made into a pillow.

and this one will be the center of a crazy quilt block that I need to make for a guild quilt.

100TH POST AND GIVEAWAY DRAWING

This my 100th post!!! It took me a while because I usually only post once a week, sometimes twice a week. It has been a lot of fun and I have met so many wonderful bloggers on line! I have also learned so much from everyone! I have really been amazed at the sharing and caring shown by so many.
