SWAP BLOCKS RECEIVED!

I received my broken dishes exchange blocks today from Barb!  What a wonderful variety of red civil war reproductions!!  Thanks Barb!  I'm not sure how many I got, but I think it's about 80!  I wonder what I will make with them.

Here are some more items that I've been making for a craft show coming up this weekend.  I just finished one more of the Bow Tucks Tote designed by Penny Sturges.  I got this fabric at my LQS and the colors are so great!  I have another one like it in process.

I've decided I don't really enjoy making tote bags and probably won't make many more of them.  It takes forever to iron on the batting and interfacing!

Tonight our church is having a Trunk or Treat event for the local children.  I had never heard of this before we moved here.  But, since they desperately needed more trunks, my DIL and I decided to decorate her trunk as a "doll house."  I will try to get some pictures.  Hope it doesn't rain tonight!

  1. What a fun shot of all those red/white blocks together!
You have made some nice bags, but I hear you on not wanting to make more. When my kids were young I made book bags for school, piano music bags to hang on their handlebars for riding their bikes to lessons, bags to contain all of the pieces and parts for various hobbies, and I made bags as gifts and auction items for our family reunions. I just have no desire to make bags anymore--even the really cute ones--which yours are! : )
Our church parking lot gets jam-packed for the trunk-or-treat. I haven't gone since my youngest outgrew the activity. There isn't room!

  2. Oh No! You received the swap blocks? You lucky girl! They look all so lovely. (I spotted mine in the last picture.) Love the fabric of the first bag. It is such a darling bag. The cat bags are charming. I'm sure they will sell in no time at all. Excellent job. I have more sewing for a craft sale too. Have to get to it. ;^)

  3. I'm sure you will come up with something special with those pretty red/white blocks. Just think how much time it took to make all those. Lucky you! I've never made a bag like those; next verse, I'm not planning to either. Yours really are pretty though. I've had the front lights off tonight, and haven't had a single trick or treater. ---"Love"
