A NEW BIRD HOUSE AND OTHER STUFF

Yesterday I happened to go past a community sale and I saw this cute teapot bird house for $3!   Here it is hanging in the tree right outside our bedroom window.  I can see it from the sewing studio window also!

I hope someone likes it.

Darlene at Quilt Shop Gal has a Creative Goodness Linky Party every Friday and since today is Friday I will link this post to it to show what I have been working on.   I recently won this book in a drawing because I had linked something to her linky party in the past.

These are a couple patterns in the book that I really like.

This is a donation quilt that is ready to go except for hand sewing the binding to the back.  It may have to wait as my Doctor said I should give the hand a rest for a while.

Two more small quilts, doll quilt and scrappy table topper that need the binding sewn to the back.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

  1. I love your tea pot bird house. I am sure the birds will love it too. You have some really nice quilts that you are finishing up on. Take care of your hand. I too have just started noticing pain in my right hand if I try doing too much. I am trying to slow down and hopefully it won't get too bad. I love all the color choices on your quilts. Happy Easter to you too!

  2. Your teapot bird house is so cute! How nice to win that book - rather like the tilted pool pattern. Nice quilting on the donation quilt and your doll quilts are so sweet. Look after that hand.

  3. The teapot birdhouse is adorable! I hope you have a family of birds to watch soon. The donation quilt is so cute, some cowboy fan will love it. The little pink doll quilt and the table topper are sweet, too. You have been busy but take care of your hand so you can enjoy stitching when it is better. I really like the tilted spools quilt pattern, looks like a fun one to make. Happy Easter!

Hope your hand feels better after a rest.

  5. Rest your hand this weekend. The binding can wait. Nice swirls in the quilting. Cute Birdhouse. Glad you got one of the Surprise prizes from QuiltShopGal.

  6. What a great find, that teapot birdhouse is adorable! Great little book and I do like both the quilts you showed from it. Good luck getting your hand all healed. Sometimes it seems like stitching down the bindings is the most tedious part of making the quilt. Happy Easter!

  8. What a cute teapot birdhouse! Don't be surprised if it takes the birdies a while to get familiar with it. Your little quilts are precious and also the donation quilt. The spool pattern reminds me of the APQ friends quilt I made a while back. Sounds like you need to stop pushing that needle and rest your hand. Happy Easter to you and all your readers. ---"Love"

  12. The tilted spools quilt would be a nice one for a bed. I am trying to remember if I have that book. The cover looks familiar but not the quilts you show.
