SPECIAL MEETING IN NEW JERSEY

When I knew we were going to be going nearby Philadelphia, I emailed "Liri" to see if there was any chance that she could meet me at one of the toll road stops.  It took some planning, but we did it!  It was wonderful to meet Liri - she was waiting for us and as soon as we pulled in, she knew it was us - nobody else had a red truck pulling a white 5th wheel!

Me and Liri
I had asked her to bring some of her quilts, etc. to show me and she brought some of her wonderful quilts, blocks (WIPs) and a basket full of her lovely stitcheries.  She has posted about lots of these before and her work is more gorgeous in person than in a picture.  The embroidered train blocks that she will be making into quilts for her grandsons are rated AAA+ in workmanship and will be perfect "boy" quilts.

I showed her around our camper so she could see my "Gone to TX" quilt and some of the projects that I work on in the camper and truck.  I forgot to show her the baby hats (below) that I'm knitting and my stitchery project - below that.

I started on the Crab Apple Hill pattern for the "Over the River and Through the Woods" wall hanging.  I prepared two of the embroidery sections to work on during this trip and so far I am working on the phrase portion.  Obviously, it hasn't been pressed yet.

After meeting Liri, we continued north to visit my cousin, who I haven't seen in about 25 years.  All her kids and grandkids are here too, so we have been able to meet the ones we hadn't ever met yet and are having a wonderful visit.

  1. What fun! You're a long way from home, too, but with a camper I guess you're like a snail...taking your home with you. Enjoy the visit with family!

  5. Yeah!!! How fun that you met Liri.
It is so much fun to meet bloggers that we 'know' on line.
My Over the River is all stitched and the top together. Needs to be quilted. It is a fun project to stitch.
Cute baby hats too. I have a knit shawl and a crochet scarf in progress right now.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Looks like your hands are keeping busy even while you are on the road. "Over the River" is such a cute quilt.
