ALMOST FINISHED VIRGINIA BOUND TOP

I finished the inner part of the top and am almost finished with the borders.

There will be a blue inner border between the pieced border and the middle section but first I need to finish the corner blocks.

Here is the inner section of the quilt being held up by my DH.

My plan is to get this quilt (Virginia Bound) basted sometime next week.  I want to get my DGD's quilt (bricks and stepping stones) ready to base while I have the table set up, so I can baste them both at the same time.  Then, I plan to quilt Virginia Bound before my next guild meeting so I can take it to show.  The Dallas guild calls it "Bring and Brag!"  Most quilts I have made have taken me a long time to finish - years sometimes.  So, I want to break that habit and get this finished fast.

Isn't that a fun block? A little mindless sewing is good for the soul, I believe.

  2. "My" blocks are jumping off the quilt and waving and saying, "Hi, Mom!"

  4. Sometimes a quilt grabs my attention and demands a more intense study than usual. This is definitely one of those quilts! You've done a great job on it. I hope to see it up close and personal when you get it quilted! ---"Love"

  8. WOW!!! I know what pops in my head when I saw this top but I am not sure I can express it. I love the light and dark you used. It almost looks like shaddows. It is way cool.
That border is awesome, I love pieced borders, but some are just too busy, this is simple but adds so much to the quilt. This is going to ba a beauty for sure.

  9. What a great quilt. Between the color values and the plaid stripes, it has such movement. I'd be stumped for how to quilt it without losing all it already has, but I know you'll do something fantastic. And hooray for a quicker than usual finish!

  10. I love, love, love your quilt!. I just purchased Bonnie's book with this pattern and have started collecting shirts. I know that I will need a variety of colors and patterns, but approximately how many shirts will I need?
