SOME BINDING DONE!

Here is a small pile of 5 little quilts ready to be bound.

This one is a doll quilt or chair hanger.

This is my scrappy star table runner with scrappy strip blocks,

Close up of the quilting.

Three more to bind.

I also made a label for a the basket quilt that I finished last summer.  Lori (and others) are encouraging quilters to label quilts.  It's a chore that gets put off in this house.  I'm going to try to be better.  I usually do it in spurts.  Put it off.  Make a bunch of labels at one time.  It's time to do a bunch now.

I did more hand work this week and my hand feels it.  I can only do a little at a time and then my fingers get numb.  Have a nice weekend, everyone!

  2. Cute little quilts, all of them! I used that same blue border fabric in my URR quilt. You probably influenced me to buy it the first time I met you and Jennifer at Lone Star. Remember that fun day? That was my first experience with reproduction fabrics. I need to get back in those storage tubs again; I have too much left! (I really have been thinking about doing that. *giggle*) ---"Love"

  5. Your little quilts are wonderful, such pretty fabrics. Rest your hands so the CT doesn't flair up too much. I try to put a label on all my quilts, but sometimes I forget. Every once in a while I go back and see what still needs one and get it put on.

  7. Love your little quilts and your quilting is beautiful. I usually hand quilt my little quilts but want to start quilting them by machine. I see that you match the top thread of your quilting to the fabric. What do you do on the back? Do you use the same color in the bobbin that you use on the top for your quilting? Just curious.
    Thank you! Lu Ann

  8. That was such a good idea to combine the star and strip blocks. I'll be thinking about that on a future project.

  9. I'm pretty good about labeling quilts. However, I find that if I wait until I'm binding a quilt I get so excited to finish that it makes it more difficult to stop and make a label then. Usually I try to make a label in an "odd" moment sometime while I'm making the quilt so it's ready when I'm sewing on the binding.

  12. The little quilts are all so sweet. And binding those will go quickly. It's funny you mention labelling quilts. I do a great job when I give them away, but not so much for myself. The gal who ran our quilt show and I were having a good giggle about how we write on the backs of our with a sharpie marker and eventually it fades off with use...guess I need to get better at labelling too!

  13. Such adorable little quilts. I bet by now that you are done with all of them.
Trying to catch up after being away at my daughters.
