SUPER HERO BIRTHDAY PARTY A SUCCESS!

Jonah's 4th birthday party was lots of fun!  The kids each got a superhero cape and mask.

My DIL put a lot into the party planning and decorations.  She hunted down a refrigerator box and they fixed it up like a phone booth for Superman to change into his costume.  Of course, these little kids had no clue about that, but they had fun playing in it anyway.

They put up a screen magnet door to try to keep flies out of the house.  The screen door was a big hit!
Here's Eli playing with it.

We got some good cuddling in over the weekend and were sad to leave.  It's hard being a grandparent who doesn't live near their grandkids.  Jonah cried when we left.  Boo Hoo!

  9. It definitely looks like the kids had a good time, but I never thought about the younger generation not knowing how Superman changed into his costume! As for grandkids crying...my parents live 10 minutes from their 3 granddaughters and at least one of them bursts into tears every time they have to go home (the youngest is 7, nearly 8, and she still does it!), so living closer may not change the tears, just the frequency of seeing them! But those tears tell you that you're loved and being a wonderful grandma, no matter how hard it is to see them. :)
