COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG

Today we went to Colonial Williamsburg and had a wonderful time in the past! Below is the courthouse. Tomorrow, we plan to go to a "trial" there.
There are various artisans demonstrating their craft there. I didn't see any quilters, though!

This is a portrayal of Martha Washington receiving an award for her husband, George Washington.
And this is a portrayal of the Marquis de Lafayette announcing the winning of a battle. He was very good!
Tomorrow we will be going back to see the governor's palace and hopefully the fife and drum march!

We have had a few negatives on the trip so far and we had to spend the first night in a hotel because our electricity wasn't working. We discovered that it was just the plug, so it was easy to fix. The other negative is the train that zooms right past the campground several times during the night. DH said he didn't hear it!

  1. What a fun place, but it's too bad there were no quilters. I hope at least you'll be able to find some quilt shops nearby. As for the hubby sleeping through trains, mine is just as bad...I think one could run him over and he'd stay sleeping!

  2. That's the interesting part of camping, surprises come up! I have some stories of unexpected repairs on the road. It's good it was an easy fix. Sounds like you are having a good time sightseeing. We always carry some of the inexpensive spongy ear plugs in the camper in case where we stay is noisy. We also have a couple of sleep masks in case there is a light source that is too bright. Enjoy your trip and hope you find some quilt stores to explore.

  3. What a beautiful place to visit! Sorry you had the electrical problem, but I'm glad it was minor! After driving all that way, hubby was probably tired enough to sleep through anything! Have fun; send more pictures! *wink* ---"Love"

  9. I am not positive if he is still a featured speaker (he was when I was there a few years ago). Look for the "LIVELY" speaking. He's one of my 'ancestors.' :)
