BINDINGS FINISHED

On our weekend trip to take care of Jonah, I got the bindings hand sewn down on several items. This is my first Cheddar Cheese & Crackers doll quilt, which is a reproduction of an antique quilt. Lori, at Humble Quilts, had a quilt along for making this and I still have the second one to finish. I love this little quilt and will be keeping this one for myself. I don't know what I'll do with the second one yet. The colors on this picture didn't come out really well, especially the pinks on the lower part of the quilt.
This quilt was a BOM from the LQS. I did two versions of this one and gave the bright one to our GD for her birthday. I have plans for this one too.
I quilted it on my sewing machine.

You can't really see the quilting on the back of the quilt, but here it is.
This is another little doll quilt bound.
Two table runners bound. I did most of the hand sewing on the bindings during our drive to Arkansas and back.
Sept. 18 is DH's 50 year high school reunion and this is the outfit that I got to wear (I hope it qualifies as cocktail attire). The pants are very loose and the top is sparkly. You can't tell, but there is a lot of aqua in the top (around the edges and the sparkles). I needed a purse, so I made one out of some fabric I had on hand and put a sparkly thing on it. It's black and brown, but I think it will work. I didn't want to buy something for one night.
We're starting to pack the camper because we leave on Friday and will be gone 5 weeks. We'll post pictures during the trip if we can find wi-fi along the way. We can't wait to get farther north where it isn't 100 degrees - we've had 12 days in a row of over 100.

  9. Amazing as usual! Love all the quilts. now I am a tad embarassed at the quilt i sent you. thank you for being forgiving on this newbie. Can you photograph what you machine set up looks like for your quilting on your machine? I am thinking of buying one of those Big Foot Quilting thingys - it's just a larger darning foot for easy FMQ on a machine. or do you have a frame? Lovely work! Thanks for showing and telling!!
    *hugs*

  12. Your quilting on the cheese is perfect; looks like little cubes of cheese! Those curves on the BOM are beautiful! I'm wondering if you mark your quilting patterns, (and if so, tell me how) or if you are just winging it? No matter, your quilting is beautiful. I'm still remembering your pretty quilting on the pink quilt at the show.
Have fun on your trip, and do be careful. I envy your escape from this hot place! ---"Love"

Likeyour outfit and I think your bag looks perfect. (I hate buying stuff to wear that will probably beused one night, I'd rather have more fabric LOL).

  14. I Like being linked back to things that were posted before I began blogging. I bought the magazine this pattern was published in and I so want to make it! It is more involved than her more recent SALs--and you made two? Way to go.
This one looks really good--very vintage!

  15. Just found you by way of Taryn's Little Quilt Show...your cheddar quilt is wonderful as are the other pieces you have shared with us. We share other things in common other than the love of cheddar - we live in the country in a log house and love to travel in our 5th wheel too. Made our 4th trip to Alaska this summer. My husband shoots competitive skeet and wants to return to San Antonio next fall for the World Shoot. We lived in Killeen by Ft. Hood many years ago so Texas is part of our own history. Fell in love with Fredricksburg.

Off to read more of your postings and hope you will drop by for a visit too!
