OUR FIRST TRIP IN NEW CAMPER

This was the first trip with our "new" camper, so I have to share some pictures. This first one is at Warfield Point Park along the Mississippi River in Mississippi. You can see the river behind the camper.
This was a beautiful sunset our first night there.
We just relaxed the next day and I got some quilting done my my cheddar cheese & crackers doll quilt.
This is a duck that lived near DS#2's apartment in Florida. I hate to say it, but it is rather ugly.
We camped one night at Lake Perry, Mississippi on our way to Florida.
However, we didn't see any alligators!
On our way back for our second weekend with Jonah, we stayed 3 nights at Hot Springs National Park. This is the stream we camped near (about 50 feet). It was just gorgeous!
We did some hiking on the trails around our camp site and took pictures to prove it!
See my hiking boots? They are great! (The first pair I ever owned).
I went to one of the bath houses in Hot Springs and had a 20 minute soak in the hot springs water. It was a huge jacuzzi tub with jets - heavenly!

No tent camping for us! We enjoyed all the features in our camper, including A/C, heater, microwave, refrigerator, stove with oven, hot water heater and tiny bathroom with shower! It also has a TV which is not hooked up yet, but we watched some DVDs before bed.

We really enjoyed camping this way and tomorrow will be heading for home.

  1. Sounds like you are having an awesome time.

I lived in Jackson, Mississippi at one time and well...I just think that state is so beautiful. We also lived in Florida as well...glad you had a good time with family.

  3. What wonderful pictures! Looks like you had a good time and even got some quilting in (the sign of a true quilter is that they take their projects on vacation with them).

  6. Gorgeous pictures, we are headed out in our trailer early in June for my nephews wedding. I can't wait until we get out into the woods though. Your little quilt is so cute. That soak in the hot springs sounds yummy! Have a safe trip home.

  7. Looks like a new truck to go with the new camper, too! That's been a "discussion" Dear Hubby and I have had. Do we get a camper to fit the current truck or get a new truck to fit the camper we want.

Regardless, it looks like you had a great time!

  8. that sounds like my kind of camping. The last time I went was oh...10 years ago with my Girl Scout Troop, and I am only a few years away from re-living that with my girls!! (and I am just guessing here but I think Girl Scouts use tents!)

  9. Hey, I have a "first hiking boots" picture like that too! I don't currently have boots though...maybe it's time to more active again. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your new camper. -Joanne

  10. I wonder if that's the Ugly Duckling from the story - or a descendant. Beautiful views, especially the sunset. The camper looks luxurious. Ann :-)

  11. love your pictures. It looks like you're having a great time. I am envious of your camper. I want to have one when I retire! Will you be doing mostly hand work while camping or will you have a sewing machine with you? I read a story about a fellow who took his sewing machine with him as a trucker and sewed in his down time on the road! So cool! Have fun, Steph

  15. I just love camping like this. We had a pull behind trailer that we just sold and plan to get a fifth wheel or small motor home that we can pull a car behind. I would love to see pics of the inside of your camper. We want to take a trip out west when we retire and take our "lodging" with us. So much nicer sleeping in your own bed and not one that who know who has been sleeping in, lol. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

  17. It's good to get out isn't it? I have a feeling that someday the hubby and I will start "camper" camping...but not quite yet;) It's still fun to deal with the weather and mother nature in general;)
    Happy Camping!!

  18. Alligators--hmmm. Trust me I wouldn't feed them! Look at you stitching away on your cheddar quilt! Looks so peaceful there, without the alligators.
