Several months ago my sister sent me a bag that was my mother's, but now my sister used it to put her dirty stockings in. I was in horrible shape (I don't even want to show it to you) and she wanted me to make her a new one. So I decided to fashion it after a vintage laundry bag that I had seen - only this is smaller. I made a couple extra ones (as long as I was making one, I might as well make three, right?) and here is one of the extra ones.
The red one is the one I sent to my sis for her birthday and now I can put in on my blog! She was happy with it! She's a piano teacher, so I thought she would like the music fabric. On Saturday I met a blogger (Quilting Memories) from North Carolina and we went to the three quilt shops that I go to most. She treated me to lunch at a tea room and we had a lovely time. I forgot my camera, but she is going to send me some pictures from her camera. I still can't get over how amazing quilting bloggers are!!
I'm exhausted. I just finished washing my kitchen floor on my hands and knees (the only way, according to my mother, that you can get your floor clean). I think she's right, but that doesn't mean I'm going to do it every time. I came across a lot of dirt down there in the corners and crevices. Yuk! I don't know what got into me!! Hee Hee!
Very cute little bags. What a good sister you are to have made them! And I have to agree with your mom - hands and knees cleaning can't be beat, though I dread doing it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these in ages - they are a terrific gift idea. I'm so glad you have such a wonderful time with your bloggy friend. They are amazing aren't they? My mother said the ame thing about the kitchen floor and of course she was right but gee wiz.... Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable bags!
ReplyDeleteI agreee about the floors, but don't do it very often!!
Cute bags!! I love the idea of them- they'd be great for collecting scraps. Its so fun to meet a new friend. Especially fellow bloggers :) Christine
ReplyDeleteI love those bags, I mad a similar shape and style from a pattern for kids pyjama cases. It sounds like you've started spring cleaning, whatever that is, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty little bags, and they really are useful! I remember having one as a teenager, but it certainly was not as pretty as yours! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteoh these bags are adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the music one, my DD would love that!
oh washing the floors on my hands and knees...well I hate doing it but yes every couple of washings it happens here too

I love the bags, they might even work as a clothespin bag. I need to make on of those. My clothespins are in a plastic grocery bag that keeps them all together but doesn't work well for hanging up the clothes!
ReplyDeleteI wash my bathroom floors on my hands and knees. They are long and narrow so it works better than a mop!
Bathroom floors on my knees, but I have a pretty large kitchen, so I mop most of it,but occasionally get in the corners with a rag on my knees....Just part of cleaning uuuugggghhhhh
ReplyDeleteI loved our time together on Saturday, all the shops were great and I did like the tea room for lunch. Great choices. the quilts and the bag you brought for me to see was wonderful, I love show and tell, especially in a parking lot Hee Hee. The rep that DH was working was a little bummed out cause I didn't think to ask her if she wanted to see. She doesn't quilt but several of her family members did. I will have to be more careful from now on!
Thanks also for the goodies you brought for me.I am definitely going to use the pattern you gave me,I liked the trivet and the kleenex holder also. Thanks a bunch. When I can get my DH to download the pictures off the camera I will post them on mt blog.
Gotta run, thanks again for such a nice time Saturday. Bobbin
I love the little bags but you know the red one is my favorite. LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteYes bloggers are wonderful people. I've met some great friends from doing this.
Hugs
