OUR FIRST SNOW!

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted, but I've been super busy.

Yesterday we had snow!  The first real snow since we moved here.  The area where we live is in the Willamette Valley and this area doesn't usually get much snow.  Abby was thrilled as it was the first snowfall she has ever seen since she was born in Florida and lived there until last summer.

View looking out our Patio door.

A friend and I participated in the Handmade Holiday Bazaar at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center in McMinnville, OR last weekend and I'm still trying to get back to normal from that.  We had a very good weekend.  But, no, we didn't sell out of everything!

Now I'm in the middle of wrapping presents, mailing packages and trying to get a few more projects made.  My ideas don't always fit into my time available and I haven't been able to keep up with the blogs I follow, but I'm trying.

Let's hope we can all get our projects finished on time!

  1. I'm in worse shape than you are! Very few gifts bought yet; none wrapped. Almost finished with decorating, but still have to clean the house! Haven't made any candy; my only party here is a week from today! (Church quilters; no more than 8 are expected.) Den tree is up, not decorated yet! My excuse: it's hard to do all this stuff while holding on to a cane to walk! But at least I'm able to get around to some degree! Hope I get it all done in time! The house has been too quiet with no parties; I miss having all my friends here; just can't do the parties this year! ---"Love"

  2. What a pretty sight! I love snow, actually. Especially if I don't have to drive in it.
My Mom grew up in California and didn't see snow fall until she moved to Idaho for college. She said her first snowfall seemed like magic to her. It has long since lost its appeal, she says. : )

  4. Hope Abby had lots of fun while the snow lasted. Ours probably won't melt nearly as quickly as yours. Our shopping is nearly done but nothing is wrapped nor are any of the decorations up - yet. Still need to find a tree and bring it home, and now they're all snow-covered!

  5. I see some wood spools in your header picture that are used for candle holders. Did you make those? Very pretty. I have some wood spools....or did. Good idea for putting them to use.

  6. We had our first snow of the season today and it finally nudged me into the Christmas spirit. I'm sure it is great fun to see someone see snow fall for the first time . I've seen it often and I'm still thrilled with the first snow of the season. I'm glad you had a good craft show. Good luck with all you need to get done.

  9. We have awakened to snow twice so far but it melts right away. It is always so pretty to see. Gifts are bought, shipped and the ones for home are wrapped. I did do some baking and now we are just relaxing. I even have time to sew! Merry Christmas!
