CALIFORNIA AND MORE DJ BLOCKS

We are in California now and just spent a few days with DH's cousin at their place in the hills.  It  took an hour of driving through hills and switchbacks to reach their home from the main road!  But it is lovely and was worth it!

They had 3 burros in their pasture.

While we were there, I had some time to sew, so I worked on my Dear Jane blocks and got 4 finished!
B-10 didn't turn out how it was supposed to, but I think I'll leave it this way.

B-3 was real easy.  I hand stitched the curved line and machine sewed the for sections together.

Both of these border blocks were done with paper piecing.

Today we're going to Yosemite National Park, so I need to end this and get ready!

  5. Looks like a lovely place! All those blocks are looking good too. Have fun each day! (I went to another quilter's estate sale today; didn't buy much, but man, did my friends go wild! Two rooms full of mostly Moda at $2 per yard!) ---"Love"

  7. The blocks look great and if you don't tell us something is wrong, we're never going to know! (And the Dear Jane quilt...well, you could make just about anything and with all those blocks, even someone who knows couldn't catch it!) Your trip sounds wonderful, but I'm not sure I'd like to drive an hour from the main road to get home...
