We drove on the "Avenue of the Giants" route to see the giant redwood trees.
Stopped to take pictures. This is our camp site. This tree was at our camp site!
Lovely flowers too.
This was one of the biggest that we saw in the camp ground - Smith Redwoods State Park in Northern California. A good tree to lean on!
I love these trees. It's kind of hard to hug that big of a tree!
This little guy entertained us at our camp site. He jumped up on the picnic table bench that I was sitting on, but didn't stay there long.
I even managed to get in a little sewing. Here I'm cutting my HSTs for a project. I have made a lot of them on the trip so far.
Next post is the Oregon coast! There is so much to see in this wonderful country. And we want to see it all! Every day is more amazing than the last!
I have never seen those giant trees! Having you in the picture for scale really puts things in perspective!
ReplyDeleteThe Altoid boxes in the last pic....they don't have mints in them, do they? Do tell!
I have been along that road, and the scenery is Beautiful, while in Oregon, don't miss Cannon Beach, or Square Diamond quilt shop, or the Haystack Bakery!
ReplyDeleteWOW. I have never seen the giant redwoods. They looked big in your pictures, but they look massive when you you see a person next to them. Continue having fun.
ReplyDeleteThose trees are amazing! Great photos!

Your pictures are amazing, I love those pink flowers! We are headed to the Oregon coast in 18 days to see new grandson. He arrived Monday, 11 lbs. 2 oz., just a little guy! We were checking out web cam sites for up there and there is still snow in lots of places. Stay safe and have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou are a dedicated quilter to be cutting fabric in the midst of such beautiful scenery! I can't believe you get up so early out there! Those trees are larger than huge! Keep having fun! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteThe redwoods are amazing! That tree is HUGE!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! I love road trips;) And I love the area you guys are headed up. If you get a chance, stop in Winchester Bay. Take the loop around the south end of the bay...there is a little cove there that is wonderful;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Camping!!
