Today was the day that Jennifer and I went to visit Love at her home. We had such a wonderful time!! She showed us all the wonderful quilts that she has, some of which are antiques from family and some of which she made. Her patriotic quilts were awesome - in fact, all of the quilts she has made were. You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) that we talked for hours about quilts, family, quilting, and more quilting with never a lull. Ideas and inspiration flowed back and forth between us!
Before I left home this morning, I was able to make the Civil War block of the week.
The free motion quilting challenge was my main goal for the week and I was able to get the border quilted on this half of my basket quilt. I layered the quilt in two pieces, so I have the other half left to quilt. I feel pretty comfortable with feathers, but still need a lot of practice. I have gotten so many ideas from other quilters doing the challenge and will be trying to put them into practice as I continue to quilt my own quilts.
aren't we going to see pictures of you three ladies?
ReplyDeleteNow I really am jealous! Delighted that you girls had such a lovely time and tour of Love's Quilt Museum. Your feathers are looking good. Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is lovely, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI was there in spirit, LOL! Where's the picture of the three of you together?

I'm with Ann - a little jealous! Your feathers have come a long way in a short time and they look fantastic in your quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a fun day.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun when you start seeing your machine quilting improve? Its lookin' great to me!
Your free motion feathers are really looking great.
ReplyDeleteOf course there was never any doubt that you three would have a fantastic day talking quilts! Glad to hear about your day and lucky you to see all of Love's quilts.
Like your CW block.
I love that Civil War block! Keep reminding me to get started on mine! About Saturday, I think I had more fun than either of you! I loved having you in my home, and you both are welcome back anytime! The quilts you brought for "Show and Tell" were all so pretty and well done! Do you think the others will believe we talked and looked at quilts 6.5 hours, and none of us ever took a picture? I realized it after you left! We'll do it again before long! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI love free motion, isn't it fun? Love your civil war block!
ReplyDeleteThe civil war block is wonderful! Love your fabrics. I'm still trying to find time to practice my free motion quilting. I have to finish some other things first. Your feathers are looking beautiful! Glad you girls had a great day together.
