My quilters guild is having a challenge for us to make a doll quilt to go with a doll or toy. I had been thinking about making a doll and decided to make the doll and doll quilt for my new GD Abigail. I finished the doll this past weekend and the doll's doll! This is the first doll I have ever made and it took a while, but wasn't tooooo hard. The clothes were harder than the doll (especially the pinafore).
Here's the back of the pinafore.I had to show you her pantaloons!
Abigail isn't even 2 months old yet, so she won't get the doll & quilt for a while yet. I also plan to make a Raggedy Andy doll for Jonah and a Raggedy Ann doll for Abigail. I just bought that pattern this past weekend. But that will have to wait a while. I have quite a few other projects that I need to get going on.
Well I love the dolly and would be happy to have her come live here. good luck in tomorrows draw.

A doll for Dolly - how adorable!

A dolly's doll! Love your rocker, my brothers and I rocked in one just like that one, then my two did, and now grandbaby Emmy does. I see what you mean about the doll bed in your header, they are similar, and very precious to still have.
ReplyDeleteLove the music on your blog, good golly, those are some great tunes!
Love the 40's music a lot.
What a great doll and dolly, Abigail will definitely love it whea she gets older. Can't wait to see the doll quilt.
ReplyDeleteShe's a lovely doll, and her clothing is especially well-done. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious doll and her dolly! The clothes really help make the doll special!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter will treasure her forever! She is a beautiful dolly. I still have the quilts and stuffed animals that my grandma made for me and I love them so much. They represent everything wonderful about my grandma! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea you had, a doll and her dolly! They look so sweet, Abigail will love it when she gets older!

The doll is so sweet. Now if I was any kind of granny I would make one of those for my only granddaughter who absolutely adores playing with her dolls. I think the idea of a special quilt for the doll is a great one. Hmmm...maybe this Christmas. I just love the tumbler block quilt and your other projects. The fabric reminds me of Pennsylvania Dutch patterns.
