I finished the baby quilt and mailed it yesterday! We decided we would not make the trip to Florida for the baby shower because of DH's bulging disc. The 11 hour drive would be pressing our luck too far.
I decided to do a meandering quilting on it and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It's not a perfect job, but it's he best I can do right now. I have a Patsy Thompson quilting DVD which I want to view some more & do the practice mini quilts - if I can find it (I "put it away" when cleaning up for company and now can't find it)!
On to the next project!
Oh my, what cute, cute stitcheries. That quilt is darling.
ReplyDeleteI see my old deleted blog name over in your sidebar, it was called SIMPLY QUILTED. I deleted it in June, then started a new one called COOTIE BUG.
OK, have a great & safe & happy Halloween day! And have some of the trick or treat candy! ;D
This is just the cutest quilt! I love how you've blended a traditional block with the embroideries and country reds!
ReplyDeleteQuilting it yourself is a great feeling, isn't it?
Hope you find your DVD ... those 'lost' things turn up in the strangest places ... (I am still looking for my geese, but have started a whole new clutch, or is that a gaggle, or a flock?)
That is adorable! I haven't done any redwork but have plans to. I especially like the dog.
ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring me. I've got to get one ready for Christmas, as I've missed birth by about 6 months!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't see how it could be any better - unless.....it was for my grandchild! Looks just perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable Ruth and will be much loved that's for sure. I'm sorry your DH is in such discomfort and wish him relief.
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching...Ann
