Lots of bloggers have been showing their fall quilts and decor. I was thinking, it would be nice to have a fall quilt, too! Wait a minute! What about the quilt hanging across the rocking chair?
It's a farm quilt kit that I bought just because I liked the animals on it. But, it does have pumpkins too.
And some fall colors.
So, from now on, this will be considered my fall quilt!
I spent the weekend (and will continue today, which is a federal holiday - Columbus Day) making flying geese for 36 sawtooth stars. That means I need 144 flying geese!! I'm using Eleanor Burns method for the first time and so far I like it. You can see her video here. This is a secret project, so I won't be showing it again for a while.
On Saturday we went to some garage sales looking for more doll beds - I sold the ones I showed you and we have at least one more craft show to prepare for. No doll beds, but I did get some shirts that I hope to use to make into a quilt following Bonnie Hunter's directions. Her book is on my Christmas wish list.
I also found some buttons! I love to add them to my collection! Some of these are vintage too!
Christmas of 2007, my granddaughter wanted a new quilt and she drew out the design she wanted. We bought fabric and got it just about finished during their 2 week visit. Last March, when we were visiting them, I thought, why not make it up as a pattern and see if anyone else would enjoy it also? My DIL prepared the diagram on CAD (she is an architect) and I figured out the yardage and wrote up the instructions. It took a while, but now we have a finished product! I will be listing it on my etsy site: logcabinmercantile.etsy.com.
I made the one below for my GD's brother. It is more scrappy (and masculine).
